Day 1: In and Around Manali, Overnight Stay in Hotel
After a delightful breakfast at the hotel we leave for a detailed exploration of Manali. A bike will be provided to each individual along with a local tour guide and you can jump on to the road and visit special mentions such as Naggar Castle, Roerich's Art Gallery, a few Hindu Temples and the hot springs at Vasisht.
Day 2: Manali-Solang Nalla (26 kilometers), Overnight Stay in Hotel
On this remarkable day, we go for a test-drive to Solang Nalla over some rough roads just to get used to for further rides on such roads. While on the trip, we stop for lunch. Once we have visited them all, we return back to Manali by evening.
Day 3: Manali-Jispa (135 kilometers, 3250 meters)
Today, we drive upstream along the Beas River (left bank) via several villages to the Rohtang Pass (4050 meters). Again we have a downhill drive to Gramphu and the Passport Check Pint at Koksar. Later we reach Keylong, the tribal district head quarter which is 35 kilometers ahead of the campsite at Jispa or Darcha.
Day 4: Jispa-Sarchu Camp (84 kilometers)
On the 4th Day, we finally leave for the higher altitude.Experience the zig-zag uphill roads in the shadow of the hanging glaciers. See the beautiful and scenic beauty of Baralachala (4800 meters) and finally we descend to the Sarchu plateau. We stay at the camp overnight.
Day 5: Sarchu-Tsokar (4267 meters), (133 kilometers / 7 hours)
Today, we leave the vast Sarchu plateau. It is an uphill, curvy drive till Namkila (4950 meters). Get a view of the spectacular rugged rocks over Lachulangla (5090 meters). Then we descend to the gorge of cliffy Ganga Jal to Pang. We continue through the vast plateau of Kyangchu-Thang (The plateau of wild monkeys) to Tsokar via a dusty and unidentified trail.
Day 6: Tsokar- Tsomoriri (Karzok) (4568 meters / 90 kilometers)
The rough roads leads to the top of Polokongkha (4920 meters), after which we descend to Puga valley, known for its Butan gass, nomad. After which we reach Sumdo village. From here we take an uphill drive from Namstang la (4800 meters) to Karzok. The most outstanding feature around the lake here are Gompa and its nomads and inhabitants.
Day 7: Karzok-Leh (220 kilometers / 3506 meters)
We leave early on this day and take the same way till Sumdo, then we reach Mahe and join the main road which leads to Leh and follow the Indus river. On the way we visit Hemis and Thiksey Monastery and also Shey Palace. We return back to the hotel and stay the night here.
Day 8: Leh-Visit Stok and Phyang Monastery
On the 8th Day we visit Stok Palace and its museum. We also take a stroll around the village and come back to Leh for lunch. Afterwards we drive to Phyang. Finally we return back to Leh and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 9: Leh-Khardungla Pass (5540 meters) and Back To Leh
Today we take an uphill drive till the Khardungla Pass. As it is the highest point, one has to be careful of altitude-sickness. Howver, we carry oxygen-cylinder at the back of our vehicle. Once we reach on the highest motorable pass in the world, we get the opportunity to glance at the magnificent view of the Himalayas and its valleys. Finally we get back to Leh after lunch. Again we stay overnight at the hotel here.
Day 10: Leh-Pang (174 kilometers-4630 meters) (Over Tanglangla Pass at 5360 meters)
On this day we take a road which goes through several villages and over world's second highest motorable pass towards Pang. Here we stay overnight at the camps.
Day 11: Pang-Jispa (161 kilometers)
We take the same route and return back to Jispa.
Day 12: Jispa-Manali (138 kilometers)
After this we return back to Manali and this marks the end of our trip.
